Fear Not!
Fear Not! draws inspiration from the biblical phrase: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God.” While rooted in monotheistic tradition, this painting shifts the phrase towards Zen philosophy, reframing it as an invitation to trust in oneself. It suggests that answers lie within, urging us to look inward and discover the sanctum of our own inner space.
When we close our eyes, the subconscious often weaves visions of the past and future—a liminal space shaped by daydreams and dreams. In the context of today’s relentless flow of information, the overstimulation from the “boxes in our pockets” leaves little room to process and reflect.
Fear Not explores this tension, asking how we can decipher our internal processes amid this noise and challenge the status quo of placing ourselves apart from the world we inherently belong to. Through its contemplative layers, the work reconnects us with the cyclical, interconnected nature of existence, offering a moment of pause to recalibrate and realign.
